Welcome to Voxaly (hereinafter referred to as "the App" or "we"). These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as "Terms") constitute a legally binding contract between you and Voxaly. Please read and fully understand all the contents of these Terms before using this App.
If you do not agree to any content of these Terms, please do not download, install, or use this App. Once you continue to use it, you are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Voxaly in any of the following ways, you indicate that you have read and agreed to all terms of this agreement:
- Downloading or installing this App from the Apple App Store;
- Opening and using any feature of this App;
- Creating an account or logging in within the App;
- Checking options like "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service" in pop-up interfaces.
These Terms apply to all users of the Voxaly iOS app distributed through the Apple App Store, regardless of whether you create an account or subscribe to paid services.
2. Service Description
Voxaly is an emotion recording and trend analysis app that helps you record emotions, review history, and understand emotional trends through visualization.
2.1 Core Features (Available to All Users)
- Emotion Recording: Record your emotion types, intensity, tags, and notes.
- History View: Browse past emotion records and review emotional changes along a timeline.
- Trend Analysis: View emotion trend charts to better understand your emotional patterns.
- Local Storage: When cloud account is not enabled, data is saved locally on your device by default.
2.2 Pro Subscription Features
After subscribing to Voxaly Pro, you can access the following enhanced features on top of core features (specific content subject to in-app display):
- Data Export: Export historical emotion records to CSV files for analysis in Excel, Google Sheets, or other tools.
- Cloud Sync: Sync emotion records and settings across multiple devices (requires account creation).
- Custom Emotion Tags: Create emotion categories and tag systems that better match your experience.
- Face ID Protection: When enabled, Face ID is required to access sensitive key-related areas (e.g., key management) to prevent unauthorized access. It does not lock the entire app.
Note: Face ID / Touch ID recognition is handled by the iOS system. Voxaly does not collect, store, or upload your biometric information.
2.3 Non-Medical Nature of Service
Voxaly is only for personal emotion recording and self-awareness. It is not a medical product and cannot replace professional medical services:
- This App is not for disease diagnosis, treatment, or prevention, nor does it constitute any medical advice.
- If you are experiencing severe emotional distress, depression, anxiety, self-harm thoughts, or other mental health risks, please immediately contact your local emergency services or professional medical institutions.
3. Account and Authentication
3.1 Account Creation
You can create an account in "Cloud Mode" to enable cross-device sync and cloud backup features. In local mode, you can use basic features without creating an account.
3.2 Authentication Methods
This App uses authentication services provided by Supabase. The current version primarily provides a secure, de-identified experience through "key-based login":
- Your account is associated with cloud data through a unique key.
- The key is generated by the app and securely stored locally, used to recover the same account across multiple devices.
- We do not require you to provide a phone number or email to use basic features.
3.3 Key Custody Responsibility
To ensure your account security, once a key is lost, it usually cannot be recovered or reset, which means we cannot help you recover cloud data associated with that key. You should properly safeguard your key, such as:
- Save the key in a password manager or secure notes;
- Do not share the key with others or display it in insecure environments;
- If you suspect key leakage, change the key within the app or stop using that account as soon as possible.
4. Subscription and Payment
4.1 Subscription Types

4.2 Billing and Renewal
- Subscription fees are billed through your Apple ID account by Apple. We do not charge you directly.
- Subscriptions typically auto-renew before expiration unless you cancel in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions before expiration.
- Renewal billing amounts are subject to prices displayed in the App Store.
4.3 Free Trial
If this App offers a free trial, specific trial duration and rules are subject to App Store and in-app page display:
- First-time subscriptions may enjoy a one-time free trial period.
- If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription.
- Canceling during the trial period usually incurs no charges.
4.4 Cancellation and Refunds
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. After cancellation:
- You can still use unlocked Pro features until the end of the current billing cycle;
- Paid subscription fees are generally non-refundable (unless applicable law or Apple refund policy provides otherwise);
- To request a refund, please follow Apple's official process. We cannot directly process subscription refunds for you.
5. User Content and Data Ownership
5.1 User Content Definition
"User Content" refers to all data you create, upload, or store while using this App, including but not limited to:
- Emotion records (emotion type, intensity, tags, notes, and time information, etc.);
- Custom tags, emotion categories, and other configurations;
- Profile information (such as nickname, avatar, etc.).
5.2 Data Ownership and License
You retain full ownership of your User Content. Voxaly does not claim ownership of your emotion records or personal content.
To provide services to you, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to:
- Store your data locally and in the cloud;
- Display, backup, and sync your data based on your operations;
- Use in de-identified form for statistics and feature optimization with your authorization.
5.3 Data Deletion
You can delete individual records, clear local data, or request deletion of cloud account and associated data through in-app features. For detailed data processing information, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
6. Service Changes and Termination
6.1 Service Changes
To improve user experience or adapt to legal policy changes, we may adjust App features from time to time, including adding, modifying, or discontinuing certain features. For changes that may significantly affect your rights, we will notify you in advance through in-app notifications and other means.
6.2 Circumstances for Our Termination
Under the following circumstances, we reserve the right to restrict or terminate providing you with some or all services, and may delete or freeze related accounts as appropriate:
- You seriously violate these Terms or relevant laws and regulations;
- Your behavior endangers the legitimate rights of other users or system security;
- Service needs to be terminated or restricted due to legal, regulatory requirements, or decisions by competent authorities.
6.3 Your Right to Terminate
You can stop using this App at any time by:
- Uninstalling this App from your device;
- Initiating an account deletion request in App settings.
Please note that according to applicable laws and regulatory requirements, we may retain certain necessary records related to transactions and security for a certain period.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
7.1 Service Provided "As Is"
To the maximum extent permitted by law, this App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and we make no express or implied warranties regarding:
- The continuous availability, stability, or error-free nature of the service;
- The accuracy or completeness of any results obtained through this App;
- This App meeting all your personalized expectations.
7.2 Non-Medical Disclaimer
Again: Voxaly is not a medical or psychological diagnostic tool and does not provide any form of medical advice. If you have concerns about mental or physical health, please consult professional doctors or mental health experts first.
7.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages you suffer from using or being unable to use this App, including but not limited to:
- Data loss, corruption, or recovery failure (whether local or cloud);
- Impact caused by failures or interruptions of third-party services (such as Supabase, Apple, etc.);
- Losses caused by your device environment, network conditions, or improper operation.
If applicable law does not allow complete exclusion of liability, our total liability to you in any case shall be limited to the subscription fees you paid to us for using this App in the past 12 months (if you have not paid any fees, we shall not bear monetary compensation liability).
7.4 Force Majeure
We are exempt from liability to the extent permitted by law for service interruptions or data loss caused by force majeure events such as natural disasters, wars, terrorist attacks, strikes, cyber attacks, government actions, telecommunications network failures, etc.
8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
8.1 Applicable Law
The interpretation and performance of these Terms are subject to consumer protection laws and mandatory provisions of the jurisdiction where you are located. When mandatory laws applicable in different countries/regions conflict, the law providing higher consumer protection shall prevail.
For EU users, you also enjoy data protection rights granted by GDPR; for California users, you enjoy relevant rights granted by CCPA. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for details.
8.2 Dispute Resolution Mechanism
If you have any disputes arising from these Terms or this App, we suggest:
- First contact us through the contact information listed in Section 9. We usually respond within a reasonable time;
- If negotiation fails, you may file complaints or lawsuits with courts or consumer protection agencies with jurisdiction according to local laws.

We usually respond to your inquiries within 5 business days. Urgent issues (such as account security, data anomalies, etc.) will be prioritized.
10. Agreement Changes
To adapt to legal changes or product feature updates, we may modify these Terms from time to time. For changes that may significantly affect your rights, we will notify you through in-app notifications and other means.
Unless otherwise mandated by law, new Terms apply to your subsequent use of this App after they take effect. If you continue to use this App after changes take effect, you are deemed to accept the modified Terms; if you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using this App.
